Ant is a musician, sound designer and creative technologist based in North Wales. He uses unconventional instrumentation combined with digital practices integrating elements of improvisation, indeterminism and mechanics. Alongside linear editing software he works with Pure Data, Arduino, Openframeworks and Cocoa.
He recently completed two projection mapping pieces working in collaboration with artist Jessica Lloyd-Jones for exhbition at Adelaide Festival in Australia in February 2015 and is currently working with her developing digitally controlled archectural lighting at Plas Heli, Pwllheli.
Previous collaborative multimedia works have been shown as part of Blinc Digital Arts Festival 2011 and 2012 and on “The Space”. He has completed compositional commissions for Cadw and Kew Palace as well as sound design projects for a number of permanent installations across the UK. He recently completed a short residency in Ruthin, North Wales as part of "Making Insights" and his short film "Nothing New" was screened at Outcasting Fourth Wall film festival in Cardiff.
During 2013 and 2014 he was SoundAndMusic's first international Embedded artist in residence at ElektronMusikStudion in Stockholm and is one of their New Voices composers exhibiting on Google Cultural Institute.
He performed his piece "Piano Duet 1" at Cafe Oto, London in 2013 and at Stockholms MusikOchTheatre Museet and Norberg Festival in 2014. His recent EP "Nothing New" is available fron Chicago experimental netlabel Pan-Y-Rosas-Discos.
